There are 89 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of choice in the used market.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, efficiency, and the quality of the ride, while also highlighting the quick acceleration and upscale feel of the Premier trim. That fits well if you want a roomy midsize sedan with a more polished, family-friendly character and useful technology. With 24.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with owners repeatedly calling out the car’s comfort and efficiency. That kind of consistently positive response suggests you’re less likely to be dealing with major regret after purchase, especially if you choose a well-maintained example. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about owner sentiment and more about making sure the specific car has been cared for properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 89 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,691 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $13,384 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,888 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you’re buying now and planning to sell later. If the market stays steady, a lower entry price can reduce the amount you lose to depreciation over your ownership period. The Malibu’s roomy cabin and strong comfort reputation should help it remain appealing to practical sedan shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Malibu is the better pick if you want a comfortable, spacious midsize sedan at a lower used price and you value a strong owner satisfaction signal. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a similar car is available with a better deal or a lower asking price.
