How much does the 2018 Audi Q5 cost?

There are 355 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Audi Q5 earns a 4.93/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Technology and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious interior, smooth driving experience, comfortable ride, spacious rear seats, and technology. That lines up well with the Q5’s role as a premium compact SUV that is meant to feel polished and practical rather than flashy. It also has broad appeal if you want a refined daily driver with a strong safety reputation and a high-quality cabin.

Only 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards shoppers who move carefully.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.93/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday use, with repeated praise for its smooth driving experience, comfortable ride, and strong safety features. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it as a polished long-term ownership choice, especially if you value a quiet, upscale cabin and a relaxed commute.

The expert review also describes it as an improved SUV with greater sophistication and strong driving dynamics, which supports the impression of a well-sorted package. On the cost side, the Q5’s standard equipment helps offset some of the premium-brand pricing, and that can make ownership feel more worthwhile.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is not a lack of appeal but the possibility of dealing with the ergonomics complaints and the occasional gear-shifting or braking concerns mentioned by owners.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi Q5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Canadian lineup includes Komfort, Progressiv, and Technik. The base trim gives you the core luxury-SUV experience, but the higher trims add more of the premium equipment and technology that make the Q5 feel especially well rounded.
• Powertrain: The standard setup uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a seven-speed dual-clutch automated manual transmission and Quattro all-wheel drive. It is tuned for strong everyday performance and includes drive modes, including an off-road mode.
• Safety package: Audi Pre-Sense includes forward-collision detection and automatic emergency braking, and available driver assistance includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and Vehicle Exit Assist. Some features are not standard on every trim.
• Infotainment: Bluetooth and a rearview camera are standard, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available. The system uses Audi’s Multi-Media Interface with a touchpad controller, handwriting recognition, and Audi Connect subscription services.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert review cites a Natural Resources Canada combined estimate of 9.6 L/100 km, and the test vehicle returned 11.0 L/100 km.

Which 2018 Audi Q5 trim should I buy?

The 2018 Audi Q5 is offered in 3 trim levels: Komfort, Progressiv, Technik.

Here's the short version:

• Komfort: This is the trim to start with if you want the Q5’s core strengths at the lowest entry point. It gives you the standard luxury-SUV basics and the standard safety and convenience equipment that make the model appealing in the first place.
• Progressiv: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it builds on the base trim with more of the equipment and polish that make the Q5 feel properly premium. If you want the sweet spot between price and features, this is the one to focus on.
• Technik: Choose this if you want the most advanced version of the Q5. It adds the highest-end technology, including Audi Virtual Cockpit, a 12.3-inch digital display, a full-colour head-up display, and the Bang & Olufsen premium Surround Sound system.

Safety-package note: Audi Pre-Sense is part of the safety story, while some driver-assistance features remain available rather than standard across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi Q5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly when you find a strong one.

• Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 355 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,374 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi Q5's resale value?

The current average of $19,411 CAD sits slightly below last year's $23,025 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can work against a future seller if you buy at today’s average and try to resell soon. The softer pricing also means there is less room for short-term appreciation, so your best resale outcome will likely come from buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition.

At the same time, the Q5’s premium positioning, strong equipment list, and broad appeal should help it remain desirable in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.93/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2018 Audi Q5 safe?

The 2018 Audi Q5 earns top marks for moderate overlap frontal impact and side impact protection from IIHS, though certain versions receive a Marginal rating for headlight performance. It also earns a five-star overall safety rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Audi Pre-Sense includes forward-collision detection and automatic emergency braking, and the Q5 also offers adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist, automatic high-beam headlights, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and Vehicle Exit Assist. Traffic Jam Assist is also part of the adaptive cruise system.

The headlight result is the main caveat to keep in mind, especially if you are comparing trims or equipment packages.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi Q5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.93/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Audi’s redesigned Q5 brings more room, more sophistication, and the latest technology while keeping the familiar compact-SUV shape.

The bottom line: The 2018 Q5 is the right pick if you want the redesigned second-generation model with strong owner approval, a polished cabin, and a meaningful price drop versus last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is worth shopping carefully for a listing near the low end of the range, but the 2018 remains the better all-round choice if you want the newer design and the strongest mix of comfort, technology, and safety.
