Is the 2018 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Acura MDX earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, spacious interior, smooth driving experience, and useful technology, and the model’s three-row layout makes it a practical choice if you want room for at least six passengers without stepping up to a larger SUV. It also fits well if you want a family-friendly luxury crossover with a high-end cabin and a strong feature set. With 27.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still worthwhile options in the market.

Is the 2018 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable, with praise centred on comfort, smooth operation, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The MDX’s reputation for quality also comes through in how owners describe its long-term appeal and everyday usability. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is less about the core vehicle and more about finding one that has been maintained properly over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a solid example.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 129 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,482 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $21,805 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,467 CAD.

That price movement suggests the MDX has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may have less downside left than someone buying when prices were higher. The model’s strong owner satisfaction also helps support demand in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.61% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped three-row luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price, the 2018 MDX is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs any differences in equipment or market availability.
