Is the 2018 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.8/5, which is a strong sign that it delivers on what matters to you in daily use. The owner feedback points to comfort, features, and a smooth driving experience, with many shoppers also valuing the spacious interior and advanced technology. If you want a three-row luxury SUV that prioritises family practicality and value for money, the MDX fits that use case well. Is the 2018 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights a reliable, dependable ownership experience, with praise centred on comfort and smooth everyday driving. That kind of response suggests the MDX is a vehicle many owners feel they can count on over time. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is finding one that has been maintained properly, since a luxury SUV can become costly if previous care was inconsistent.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a solid example.

• Deal availability: 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,571 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $22,571 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,275 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The fact that the model still attracts steady shopper interest should help support demand, but future resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 26.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 MDX is the better choice if you want a well-equipped three-row luxury SUV with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price. If your priority is stretching your budget further, you can also compare nearby model years, but the 2018 is the one to target when you want a balanced mix of value, features, and buyer confidence.
