How much does the 2017 Volkswagen Golf cost?

Is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and it fits a car that blends practical everyday usability with a sharper, more upscale performance feel. The 2017 Volkswagen Golf offers standard all-wheel drive, a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, and a chassis tuned for grip and control, so it suits you if you want something quick but still relatively subtle. It also comes well equipped with features like a touchscreen infotainment system, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, leather upholstery, Bluetooth connectivity, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, bi-xenon headlights, and a rear-view camera. 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Reliability is generally regarded as solid, but coolant leaks, water pump failures, and timing-chain-related rattles are worth watching for on a used example. If you buy one, a careful pre-purchase inspection matters because those issues can affect ownership costs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Volkswagen Golf?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 127 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,802 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Volkswagen Golf's resale value?

The current average of $12,467 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,136 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means a future sale may need to be priced competitively if the market stays soft. For you as a seller, the current trend suggests less upside than a year ago, especially if your car has average mileage or visible wear. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Volkswagen Golf or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of value, equipment, and buyer appeal, the 2017 is the primary year to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against nearby model years before you commit.
