Is the 2017 Subaru WRX a good car?

Yes — 4.67/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Owners consistently praise its exciting performance, impressive handling, and all-wheel drive capability, and they also like the unique styling that helps it stand out from ordinary compact sedans. For you, that means the WRX makes the most sense if you want a practical daily driver with genuine performance character and rally-inspired appeal. With 27.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Subaru WRX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that many drivers enjoy living with over time because it feels dependable in the ways that matter to enthusiasts: strong performance, confident all-wheel drive, and a driving experience people want to keep coming back to. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to maintenance history and how the car has been driven, since a performance-focused model can carry more ownership risk if it has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Subaru WRX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly when the right car appears.

• Deal availability: 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 110 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,427 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Subaru WRX's resale value?

The current average of $17,006 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,322 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can be helpful if you're buying now but means future resale gains may be more limited if prices stay soft. If you plan to sell later, the current trend implies you should focus on buying a well-kept example at a sensible price so you have less depreciation to absorb. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it's time to list the car again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 WRX is the better pick if you want the model's core appeal: strong owner satisfaction, engaging performance, and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you're especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is a solid target when you want the WRX experience without paying peak pricing.
