Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Sentra earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners commonly praise its reliable, efficient character, along with its smooth driving experience and attractive styling. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a compact sedan that focuses on everyday usability, good fuel economy, and value. With 30.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Sentra reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights it as reliable, efficient, and trouble-free for many drivers, with a reputation for being a car you can count on for daily use. At the same time, some owners mention CVT-related concerns, so long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history carefully before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Sentra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 130 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.11% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $9,234 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Sentra's resale value?

The current average of $9,234 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,705 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sentra has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit how much more value it loses in the near term. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in good condition, you may be better positioned than a buyer who pays closer to the top of the range. The market also appears to reward value-oriented compact sedans that still have broad appeal to used-car shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Sentra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Sentra makes the most sense if you want a value-focused compact sedan with strong owner approval and a market that still offers some deal potential. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year is a sensible target; if you want to shop even more aggressively on price, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look.
