Is the 2017 Toyota Corolla a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year. Drivers consistently praise its fuel efficiency, comfort, and features, while also highlighting its reliability and ride quality. That fits well if you want a practical compact car that is easy to live with and focused on dependable day-to-day use. Is the 2017 Toyota Corolla reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, and it also describes the car as dependable and easy to count on for everyday use. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used car that should be straightforward to own over the long term. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about drama and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Corolla?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to shop patiently and compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 276 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.30% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,533 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Corolla's resale value?

The current average of $15,610 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,661 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the car easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the softer trend means you should be realistic about depreciation and focus on buying well. A clean history, strong maintenance records, and desirable equipment can help protect value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Corolla or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.30% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,637 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,610 CAD average.
• It focuses on value and fuel economy.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the newer model-year updates and are comfortable paying a bit more for a stronger overall package. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better path and still delivers the Corolla’s core strengths.
