That price trend suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make resale a little more competitive for you if you plan to sell later. If you buy at the current average, your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.74% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Pathfinder is the better pick if you want a roomy, family-focused SUV with strong value and a softer used-market price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years to see whether a lower entry price outweighs the 2017’s stronger equipment and updated powertrain.
