Is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?

Generally — the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder earns a 4.4/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its comfort, spaciousness, and family-friendly features, and many also like the smooth performance and good gas mileage. That lines up well with its role as a three-row SUV aimed at everyday usability, especially if you want room for passengers and a practical cabin. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with comments about smooth performance and a vehicle that families can count on for daily use. At the same time, some owners mention steering issues and tire wear, so a careful inspection matters on any used example. For long-term ownership, your risk is more about condition and maintenance history than the model’s overall appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Pathfinder?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 194 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,476 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?

The current average of $13,529 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,397 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Pathfinder more attractive to buyers now but may limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the current average or below, you reduce the chance of overpaying in a softer market. For resale, the key will be keeping the vehicle in strong condition and maintaining service records so it stands out against similarly priced listings.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Pathfinder is a strong choice if you want a roomy, family-focused three-row SUV with good owner satisfaction and a market that has become more buyer-friendly. If your priority is stretching your budget, this year looks especially worth considering; if you want to compare value across the range, nearby model years may also be worth a look, but the 2017 stands out as a sensible primary target.
