Is the 2017 Nissan Murano a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Nissan Murano earns a 4.71/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxurious feel, numerous features, and stylish design, and many also appreciate the comfort and power, especially in the higher trims. In practical terms, that lines up well if you want a midsize crossover that leans toward comfort, style, and everyday usability rather than sporty handling. With 25.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Nissan Murano reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a vehicle that many owners find dependable enough to live with day to day, with comfort and feature content helping support a positive ownership experience. At the same time, some shoppers have raised concerns about reliability, so you should treat maintenance history and inspection results as especially important on the used market. For long-term ownership, that means the safest path is to prioritise well-documented examples and avoid vehicles with signs of deferred care.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Murano?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 220 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.28% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $14,380 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Murano's resale value?

The current average of $14,518 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,985 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Murano has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, the current market position may limit how much value it can shed from here compared with a newer purchase. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Murano or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 25.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a comfort-first midsize crossover with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours patient shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may still be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better fit when you value style, comfort, and a solid used-market price position.
