For used buyers, that generally lowers long-term ownership risk, especially if you prioritise a predictable, low-stress commuter.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,061 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $11,230 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,057 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can work against you if you're planning to sell soon. At the same time, it may help you buy at a more favourable entry point today. If prices remain steady, a well-kept example should still appeal to shoppers looking for a comfortable, feature-rich sedan with strong owner satisfaction.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-equipped midsize sedan with strong owner approval, the 2017 Altima is the primary path to consider. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year with a lower asking price may be worth a look, but the 2017 stands out as the better-balanced choice for shoppers who value satisfaction and market support.
