Is the 2017 Mitsubishi RVR a good car?

With no expert test-drive data available for this model year, the best read comes from the market itself: the 2017 Mitsubishi RVR is trading at an average of $12,258 CAD, and that price sits below where it was a year ago. Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mitsubishi RVR?

This looks like a moderate buyer's market, so you can shop selectively without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 71 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,876 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mitsubishi RVR's resale value?

The current average of $12,258 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,806 CAD.

For a future seller, that suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make timing and condition especially important. If you keep the vehicle well maintained and price it competitively, you may be better positioned to attract buyers in a market where shoppers have options. The current spread between the year-round low and high also shows there is room for well-presented examples to stand out.

Should I buy a 2017 Mitsubishi RVR or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.21% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want to shop a year that has already come down in price and still has a fair amount of inventory to compare. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may also want to look at nearby model years and compare listing condition, mileage, and asking price before deciding.
