Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin and exterior presentation are a major part of the appeal, with a standard 7-inch central screen, Bluetooth, HD Radio, and two USB ports. The upgraded 8.4-inch screen adds navigation, and the available LED headlights and taillights are a worthwhile upgrade if you want better night-time visibility and a more polished look.
• Powertrain: You’re looking at a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 241 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque, paired with a seven-speed automatic. In Canada, all-wheel drive is standard on the sedan, and the car offers drive modes that change throttle, transmission, and steering responses.
• Safety package: The car includes forward-collision alert with auto-braking, Pre-Safe, rear side thorax-level airbags, stability control that can compensate for crosswinds, and an attention monitor. Optional features include blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, pedestrian detection, cross-traffic alerts, and Pre-Safe Plus.

• Deal availability: 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 317 listings available.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class's resale value?

The current average of $23,152 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,783 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face more competition if values continue to soften. If you buy now, you’re entering at a lower price point than a year ago, which can help cushion depreciation if the market stabilizes. Strong demand for a well-regarded luxury sedan can still support resale, especially when the car has a good reputation for comfort and performance.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class or consider a different year?

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Time and again, Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan buyers are attracted to this car’s near-perfect blend of comfort, performance, price, and snob appeal. What’s in store for 2017? More of the same—and that’s a very good thing.

The bottom line: If you want the most straightforward path into this generation, the 2017 is a sensible pick because it delivers the core C-Class formula with a lower average price than it had a year ago. If you’re especially price-sensitive, keep shopping listings carefully and target the lower end of the range, since the market still offers some room to negotiate.
