The owner feedback also points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for its trouble-free ownership experience, fuel efficiency, and long-term appeal. Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mazda MAZDA3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 242 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.83% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,555 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mazda MAZDA3's resale value?

The current average of $13,705 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,960 CAD.

That suggests the market has eased a bit, which can be helpful if you're buying now but means future resale gains may be more limited in the near term. If you plan to sell later, the softer pricing trend could make it harder to recover as much value as you might in a tighter market. Even so, the model's strong owner satisfaction should help keep demand steady among used-car shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.83% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Mazda MAZDA3 is a strong choice if you want a used compact car with a sporty personality, good fuel efficiency, and broad appeal at a more approachable price than newer examples. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby older year may save you money, but the 2017 is the better all-round pick if you want a balance of value, features, and owner satisfaction.
