Is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious features, smooth drive, and attractive interior, and many also appreciate its performance and off-road capabilities. In practical terms, it suits you if you want a luxury SUV with genuine off-road ability and a high-end driving experience, though some owners note concerns about fuel efficiency, reliability, and missing advanced technology features. Is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find luxurious, smooth, and enjoyable to live with, while also highlighting its performance and off-road capability. At the same time, the same feedback mentions concerns about reliability, fuel efficiency, and missing advanced technology features, so you should approach used examples with a careful inspection mindset. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that a neglected or poorly maintained example could become expensive to keep on the road.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused on condition.

• Deal availability: 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 139 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $25,788 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $25,788 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,172 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the current pricing trend means you should expect more competition from similarly equipped listings and be realistic about how quickly value may continue to soften. Strong owner satisfaction can still help support demand, especially for well-kept examples with desirable equipment and a clean history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the better pick if you want a well-equipped luxury SUV with strong owner approval and you can find one that has been maintained carefully. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2017 stands out as the more compelling choice when you want a balance of value, features, and buyer confidence.
