So if you go with the forte and it says Apple car play or Android auto. Bring a cable and actually make sure! Ours said it and it didnt have it. We couldnt do a map upgrade and get it, cause our 2017 does not have navigation. If it did, the update wouldve worked.

How much does the 2017 Kia Forte cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $10,736 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $10,267 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $11,860 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,529 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −6.87% |
Prices have softened 6.87% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 159 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2017 Kia Forte a good car?
The 2017 Kia Forte can be a sensible used-car choice if you want a value-focused compact car and you’re comfortable shopping carefully within the market. The user rating is 3.25/5, which suggests a mixed ownership experience rather than a standout one.
With 22.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to find a competitively priced example if you’re patient.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Kia Forte?
This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 22.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 159 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $10,267 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Kia Forte's resale value?
The current average of $10,736 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,529 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favour, which can make it easier to purchase now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the lower end of the range, you may protect yourself better against further depreciation. For a future seller, the key is to avoid overpaying today so your eventual resale position stays stronger.
Should I buy a 2017 Kia Forte or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 22.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.87% compared with last year.
The bottom line: The 2017 Kia Forte makes sense if you want a lower-priced used compact car and you can focus on well-priced listings. If you’re price-sensitive, the 2017 is worth a close look; if you want to compare against other years, use the current market softness to negotiate hard and prioritise the best-maintained example over the cheapest one.
