Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Hyundai Tucson earns a 4.56/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its luxurious feel, smooth and quiet ride, spacious interior, and useful features such as heated seats and a moonroof. It also fits well if you want a practical compact SUV with a more polished feel, good handling, and everyday comfort rather than outright speed. Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.56/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a dependable ownership experience for many drivers, with praise for its smooth, quiet ride and comfortable day-to-day use. At the same time, some owners mentioned reliability concerns based on their own experience, so a careful inspection and service-history review still matter. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a vehicle that has been maintained inconsistently, so you should prioritise well-documented examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy without waiting forever.

• Deal availability: 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 528 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,462 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $13,462 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,435 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Tucson has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less room for appreciation in the near term, so condition and mileage will matter more when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.56/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.56/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Hyundai Tucson makes the most sense if you want a well-equipped compact SUV with strong owner approval, a comfortable ride, and pricing that has eased compared with last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a lower-priced example offers similar features and condition, but the 2017 is a solid primary target if you value overall livability and market value.
