The car is a nice small sedan. I am used to driving a Fiat and also a VW Jetta and this car falls neatly in between the 2 in terms of size. It has a deceptively large cabin and comfortable seats. I am currently waiting to see how well the fuel efficiency is after the first fill up. The bluetooth and mostly digital dash is a nice change from the mostly analog displays I am accustomed to. The car runs smoothly and is a good size for a small sedan. Due to its size, it does have a slightly smaller trunk than I was hoping and less vents. These are fairly insignificant things for me so it is overall still a great car. In terms of comparison to another car model I would say it would be somewhat close to a base model Nissan Sentra.

How much does the 2017 Hyundai Accent cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $9,902 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $9,602 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $11,069 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,024 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −10.17% |
Prices have softened 10.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 96 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2017 Hyundai Accent a good car?
Yes — the 4.67/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked used car. That kind of owner feedback usually points to a model that satisfies everyday shoppers who want straightforward transportation. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2017 Hyundai Accent reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that kind of owner approval can reduce the risk of unpleasant surprises, especially if you focus on well-maintained examples with complete service records.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Accent?
It’s a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.17% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $9,602 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Hyundai Accent's resale value?
The current average of $9,902 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,024 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means a future sale may need to be priced carefully to stay competitive. If the market continues to normalise, resale value should depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 10.17% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2017 is a sensible choice if you want a used Accent with solid owner approval and a market that currently favours patient shoppers. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, keep an eye out for listings near the lower end of the range; if you want more room to compare, the current inventory gives you enough options to shop carefully.
