The car is a nice small sedan. I am used to driving a Fiat and also a VW Jetta and this car falls neatly in between the 2 in terms of size. It has a deceptively large cabin and comfortable seats. I am currently waiting to see how well the fuel efficiency is after the first fill up. The bluetooth and mostly digital dash is a nice change from the mostly analog displays I am accustomed to. The car runs smoothly and is a good size for a small sedan. Due to its size, it does have a slightly smaller trunk than I was hoping and less vents. These are fairly insignificant things for me so it is overall still a great car. In terms of comparison to another car model I would say it would be somewhat close to a base model Nissan Sentra.

How much does the 2017 Hyundai Accent cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $9,765 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $9,606 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $11,073 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $10,828 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.81% |
Prices have softened 9.81% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 90 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2017 Hyundai Accent a good car?
Yes — the 2017 Hyundai Accent earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. That kind of feedback suggests you can feel reasonably confident if the car fits your needs and budget. With 37.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.
Is the 2017 Hyundai Accent reliable?
Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback suggests lower ownership risk than you might expect from a budget-focused small car, especially if the vehicle has been maintained properly.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Accent?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 90 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $9,606 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2017 Hyundai Accent's resale value?
The current average of $9,765 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,828 CAD.
That softer pricing can be a mixed signal if you're thinking about resale later. On one hand, it may help you buy at a more attractive entry point today. On the other, it suggests future sellers may need to price carefully to stay competitive if market conditions remain similar.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Accent or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 37.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.81% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want a used Accent with a solid owner satisfaction score and a market that has eased from last year, the 2017 is a sensible place to start. If you're especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the lower end of the range and compare them carefully against other nearby model years before you commit.
