Is the 2017 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 4.75/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction with this model year. That makes it a smart fit if you want a practical daily driver with good value and everyday usability. With 29.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes this Civic as reliable and a car you can count on, with praise for its trouble-free ownership experience and strong day-to-day dependability. The same feedback also ties its appeal to long-term value, which matters if you plan to keep the car for several years. For used buyers, that suggests lower ownership risk than many compact cars, provided the specific vehicle has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy now if the right car appears, but it still pays to compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 514 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,497 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $15,497 CAD sits slightly below last year's $16,734 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can make the car more attractive to buyers today but slightly less favourable for sellers trying to maximise return. If you buy at the current average and later resell into a steadier market, you may face some depreciation pressure from the recent softening. Even so, the model's strong reputation and broad appeal should help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $14,267 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $15,497 CAD average.
• It brings a more polished redesign with strong efficiency and dependable everyday appeal.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2017 if you want the stronger all-around used-car pick with broad owner approval and a healthy supply of listings. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2016 is the better value play, especially if you find one in good condition and can live with its older pricing position.
