Is the 2017 Honda Accord reliable?

User feedback highlights reliability, and the Accord’s reputation for being dependable comes through clearly in owner comments about its comfortable interior and trouble-free ownership experience. For used buyers, that suggests lower ownership risk than many alternatives, especially if you prioritise a sedan you can count on.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Accord?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 183 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.80% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,915 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Honda Accord's resale value?

The current average of $17,219 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,305 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. A softer current average can mean future resale gains may be more limited unless demand strengthens again. Even so, the Accord’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction help support steady interest from used-car shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.52/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Honda Accord or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.80% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.52/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,353 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $17,219 CAD average.
• It offers a sensible hedge against unexpected ownership costs.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,114 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,219 CAD average.
• It adds a more engaging driving character and a more polished overall experience.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around pick if you want a balanced mix of value, comfort, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2016 is the smarter price-sensitive choice, while the 2018 makes sense if you want to pay more for a newer-feeling driving experience.
