CarGurus Analysis: 2017 Honda Accord

Summary
With 174 currently listed for sale and an average price of $17,646 CAD, 27.0% of 2017 Honda Accord listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2017 Honda Accord 4.52 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2017 Honda Accord stands out as a well-rounded family sedan that blends comfort, practicality, and a strong reputation for reliability. By this generation, the Accord had grown into a roomy, large-car-sized sedan with an expansive cargo hold and a rear seat that is notably generous for the class. It also has the kind of polished, near-luxury feel that has long helped the Accord distinguish itself, especially in higher trims with leather-trimmed seats. Drivers who value an easy-to-live-with cabin will also appreciate Honda’s infotainment system, which is described as pleasant and easy to use.
What makes the 2017 Honda Accord especially appealing is how much it offers without losing its reputation for being good to drive. The Accord has long been praised for refinement, and this generation continues that theme with a simple, easy-to-use interior layout and a strong focus on safety. Honda Sensing comes standard on this generation, bringing lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, forward collision braking, and road-departure mitigation. That combination of driver assistance, solid construction, and everyday usability helps explain why the Accord has remained such a trusted choice for buyers.
There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind. The Accord is described as tending to be more expensive than its competitors, and its exterior styling is conservative. Even so, for shoppers who want a dependable, spacious, comfortable sedan with a reputation for safety and a pleasant driving character, the 2017 Honda Accord remains an appealing choice.

Is the 2017 Honda Accord a good car?
Yes — the 2017 Honda Accord earns a 4.52/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth driving experience, great fuel economy, and comfortable interior, while also appreciating its stylish design. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a roomy family sedan with an easy-to-live-with cabin and broad everyday appeal. With 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market value to be found.
Is the 2017 Honda Accord reliable?
Owners rate it 4.52/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
User feedback highlights reliability, and the model’s reputation is reinforced by comments about its trouble-free ownership experience and dependable day-to-day use. Drivers also point to its comfortable interior and smooth driving character, which tend to support confidence over the long term. For used buyers, that usually means lower ownership risk than you might expect from a midsize sedan of this age.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Honda Accord?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 179 listings available.

What is the 2017 Honda Accord's resale value?
The current average of $17,558 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,726 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also suggests future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices stay under pressure. Even so, the Accord’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help it hold buyer interest better than many rivals. If you maintain it well and keep mileage reasonable, you should still have a solid path to resale when it is time to move on.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.52/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2017 Honda Accord or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2017 if:
- 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 6.24% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.52/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2016 if:
- At $15,068 CAD, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $17,558 CAD average.
- It offers a sensible, lower-risk ownership proposition.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $18,991 CAD, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $17,558 CAD average.
- It brings a more engaging driving character and a more polished overall experience.
The bottom line: The 2017 is the best all-around pick if you want a well-liked, well-priced Accord with strong owner satisfaction and decent deal availability. If your priority is saving money, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want a newer-feeling Accord and can stretch your budget, the 2018 is worth a look.
