Is the 2017 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 4.73/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, impressive features, cargo room, and versatile seating, which fits the Acadia’s family-focused, comfort-first role. It also makes sense if you want a used crossover that balances practicality with a more upscale feel in higher trims. With 40.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a solid chance of finding value in the market.

Is the 2017 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.73/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also describes the Acadia as dependable in everyday use, with a reputation for being a great value for families and outdoor enthusiasts. That said, some drivers mention occasional radio issues, so it is worth checking infotainment operation carefully during a test drive.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad reliability concerns and more about making sure any individual example has been well maintained and free of lingering electrical or convenience-system annoyances.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a buyer’s market for you if you are shopping the 2017 GMC Acadia.

• Deal availability: 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 79 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.23% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $16,333 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $16,985 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,036 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, the softer market can reduce your upfront cost, but future resale will still depend on how well the vehicle is maintained and how competitively it is priced when you sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.73/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 40.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.23% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.73/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a comfortable, family-friendly crossover with strong owner approval and a market that currently favours buyers. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2016 may be worth a look for a lower entry point, while the 2018 is the better path if you want to compare against a nearby year with a similar overall formula.
