Generally — the 4.2/5 user rating points to a vehicle that many owners feel meets their needs well. What is the 2017 Dodge Journey's resale value?

The current average of $10,914 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,104 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future buyers but may limit how much value you can recover later. If you buy at the right price now, you may reduce your downside when it comes time to sell. The current market also shows enough inventory to keep pricing competitive, so condition and maintenance history will matter when you eventually list it.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.2/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 31.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 16.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.2/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest value play, the 2017 makes sense when you can find a well-priced example with a clean history and evidence of careful maintenance. If you're especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on nearby model years too, but the 2017 is the better starting point when you want a balance of current affordability and broad market availability.
