Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its great gas mileage, compact size, and the way it handles, especially on hills. Is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights dependable everyday use, with praise for its trouble-free practicality, good fuel economy, and compact size. That kind of feedback suggests the Trax can be a sensible choice if you want a small crossover you can count on for routine driving.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright complexity and more about finding one that has been maintained well and still feels comfortable for your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Chevrolet Trax?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 23.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 100 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.50% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,885 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $11,055 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,564 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at today’s average, your resale position will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. The model’s compact size and practical reputation should help keep it relevant with budget-minded shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 23.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2017 Trax makes the most sense if you want a compact, easy-to-live-with crossover and you value current pricing that has moved lower than last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 is the better pick when you want the updated feel and strong owner approval without stretching your budget too far.
