Is the 2017 Acura MDX a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Acura MDX earns a 4.75/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxury feel, space, and safety features, and many also like the smooth ride and spacious interior, especially if you want the available third row. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a three-row luxury SUV that feels more polished than many rivals while still working well for family duty. With 28.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Acura MDX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable and trouble-free for many shoppers, with praise centred on its solid quality and the confidence it inspires over time. That kind of long-term approval matters if you want a used SUV you can count on for regular family use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about basic durability and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Acura MDX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient and focused.

• Deal availability: 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.79% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $19,638 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Acura MDX's resale value?

The current average of $19,719 CAD sits slightly below last year's $24,282 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. The MDX’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but resale value will still depend on condition, mileage, and maintenance history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Acura MDX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 28.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a three-row luxury SUV with strong owner approval, a comfortable ride, and a more attractive used price than it had a year ago, the 2017 MDX is the primary year to target. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs any differences in equipment or market availability.
