Is the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan reliable?

At the same time, some owners mention concerns around the panoramic sunroof and Volkswagen’s response to related problems, so you should pay close attention to condition and maintenance history. The current average of $10,752 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,459 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the Tiguan’s value will depend heavily on condition, service records, and how well it has been maintained. A clean example with strong presentation should be easier to move than one with visible wear or unresolved issues.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan or consider a different year?

If you are especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may also be worth comparing, but the 2016 stands out as a sensible choice when you find a clean example at the right price.
