Is the 2016 Volkswagen Passat a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating suggests you should feel confident considering it if the rest of the listing checks out. That score points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year, and the market also shows 26.2% of listings as good or great deals.

Is the 2016 Volkswagen Passat reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

For used buyers, that kind of owner feedback can reduce the risk of unpleasant surprises, though you should still prioritise maintenance records and a careful pre-purchase inspection.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Volkswagen Passat?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 25.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,142 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Volkswagen Passat's resale value?

The current average of $11,224 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,122 CAD.

That kind of decline can make the car more attractive to you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a softer pricing environment if the market stays similar. If you buy at the lower end of the current range, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation exposure later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Volkswagen Passat or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 25.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a used Passat with a lower average price and decent deal availability. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a slightly older or newer example offers a better balance of asking price and inventory.
