Should I buy a 2016 Volkswagen Golf or consider a different year?

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Golf’s blend of performance, practicality, and equipment, especially if you value the added appeal of the manual gearbox option. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with lower pricing may be worth a look, but the 2016 remains the better pick when you want a more complete and engaging package.
