Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.27% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Forester makes sense if you want a practical, all-weather compact SUV with strong owner approval and enough inventory to shop selectively. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year with a lower average price may be the better path, but the 2016 is the safer pick if you want a balanced mix of value, demand, and owner satisfaction.
