That fits especially well if you want a practical, budget-friendly daily driver with real utility and all-weather capability. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Subaru Crosstrek?

This is a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can be patient and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 88 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $12,776 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Subaru Crosstrek's resale value?

The current average of $12,776 CAD sits slightly below last year's $15,608 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less room for appreciation later, so condition and mileage will matter a lot when it comes time to resell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 34.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Crosstrek makes the most sense if you want a practical, all-wheel-drive crossover with strong owner approval and a softer used-market price. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may still be worth comparing, but the 2016 is the better pick when you want a balanced mix of value, utility, and buyer confidence.
