Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction with the 2016 Mazda CX-3. The overview frames it as a subcompact SUV that appeals if you want Mazda’s sporty driving character and a premium-feeling cabin in a compact package. It also notes that available safety and driver-assistance equipment broadened its everyday usefulness, which makes it a sensible fit if you value city-friendly size more than maximum practicality. With 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the CX-3’s appeal comes from its straightforward formula: a compact crossover layout, Mazda’s sporty character, and useful safety and driver-assistance equipment. For used buyers, that usually means the main long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about whether the vehicle’s small size and limited practicality still suit your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 81 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.15% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $13,070 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $13,169 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,991 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make future resale a bit more challenging if values continue to soften. If you buy now, your best protection is choosing a well-kept example priced near the lower end of the range. Strong demand for compact crossovers can help, but the current trend still points to a market that favours buyers more than sellers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 2016 Mazda CX-3’s compact footprint, sporty Mazda feel, and a market that currently offers some pricing flexibility, it makes sense as the primary choice. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-maintained examples and be ready to move quickly when you find one near the low end of the range.
