Should I buy a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a compact crossover with standard all-wheel drive, a practical personality, and strong owner approval, the 2016 is the year to focus on. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby model years to see whether a similar Crosstrek offers a lower entry price or a better deal on the same basic formula.
