How much does the 2016 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 3.10% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 104 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.7/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, towing capability, and comfort, and the truck’s everyday usability stands out for buyers who want heavy-duty capability without giving up cabin refinement. The overview also highlights its appeal as a work truck that can still serve as a practical daily driver. With 21.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to reliability as a strength, with many drivers describing it as dependable and trouble-free in regular use. That said, some owners mention concerns about the 68RFE 6-speed automatic transmission, especially in higher-mileage trucks without service history. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is not the truck’s core reputation, but whether the specific example has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 21.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 104 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.10% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,549 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $29,299 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,236 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one for the long term, the current trend implies steady but not especially fast appreciation in buyer interest. Strong demand from shoppers who want towing ability and comfort should still support values, especially for well-kept trucks.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 21.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.10% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the updated heavy-duty RAM formula with solid owner approval and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2016 remains the better pick when you want a balance of capability, comfort, and current value.
