The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many shoppers, with praise centred on the truck’s lasting appeal, practical usefulness, and overall confidence in daily use. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 721 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,898 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $17,898 CAD sits slightly below last year's $19,790 CAD.

That price movement suggests the truck has softened enough to help buyers today, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $16,704 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $17,898 CAD average.
• It offers strong interior comfort and a compelling chassis.

The bottom line: The 2016 is the better all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of value, owner satisfaction, and current market availability. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2015 is the more price-sensitive alternative and still brings many of the same comfort-focused strengths.
