Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2016 Mazda CX-3, and it fits the model’s sporty, premium-leaning character. The CX-3 is positioned as Mazda’s small crossover for buyers who want a polished feel in a compact package, and its standard equipment list is notably strong for the class. It also suits you best if you value style, driving enjoyment, and a more upscale cabin over maximum practicality. With 37.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Mazda CX-3 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Mazda’s emphasis on standard technology, available all-wheel drive, and a well-equipped cabin supports the impression of a thoughtfully built small crossover. The main ownership trade-off is that the CX-3 is better suited to lighter-duty family use than to hauling lots of passengers or cargo. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about whether the vehicle’s compact size fits your needs than about the model’s overall appeal.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Mazda CX-3?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient but should move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 37.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 64 listings available.

If you find a listing below $13,070 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Mazda CX-3's resale value?

The current average of $13,273 CAD sits slightly below last year's $14,375 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. The CX-3’s premium-leaning image and sporty character can help keep it appealing to shoppers who want a small crossover with a more upscale feel.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Mazda CX-3 or consider a different year?
