Is the 2016 Lexus RX a good car?

Generally — the 4.33/5 user rating points to a well-liked used luxury SUV. Owners most often praise its comfort, reliability, and luxury features, with the smooth ride and loaded interior standing out as recurring strengths. That fits the RX’s role as a comfort-first luxury SUV for shoppers who want refinement over flashier ambitions. With 25.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2016 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, and the model’s reputation is reinforced by comments about it being dependable and trouble-free over the long term. That said, a few drivers mentioned transmission concerns, so you should still pay close attention to service records and test-drive behaviour. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the overall reputation and more about finding an example that has been maintained properly.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 93 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,265 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $27,619 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,186 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you're buying now but less ideal if you're planning to sell soon. A softer market usually means future resale gains may be more limited unless the vehicle is especially well kept and attractively priced. Even so, the RX’s comfort-focused appeal and strong reputation help it stay relevant with used luxury SUV shoppers. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.33/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 RX makes the most sense if you want a comfort-first luxury SUV and you can find one priced near the lower end of the market. If you're more price-sensitive, it can also be worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a similar RX offers a better asking price or a stronger deal.
