Is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating suggests you’re looking at a well-liked SUV. Owners consistently praise its fun driving experience, comfortable interior, and impressive power, especially with the manual transmission. The Wrangler’s old-school character also comes through in its rugged identity and off-road focus, while still offering enough modern convenience to work as an everyday vehicle. With 26.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback points to a vehicle that many owners find simple and relatively inexpensive to repair, which supports the case for dependable ownership. That said, the same feedback also highlights noise, a bumpy ride, and fuel economy as common drawbacks rather than major reliability red flags. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether you’re comfortable living with the Wrangler’s compromises over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Jeep Wrangler?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 235 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.33% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $18,129 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Jeep Wrangler's resale value?

The current average of $18,129 CAD sits slightly below last year's $22,199 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Wrangler more approachable for you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means there may be less room for appreciation unless demand strengthens. Even so, the model’s distinctive character and broad appeal help support interest in well-kept examples. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Jeep Wrangler or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a strong choice if you want the Wrangler’s classic character with a healthy mix of modern convenience and a market that currently favours shoppers. If you’re price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years, but the 2016 stands out as a sensible target when you want a well-liked Wrangler with meaningful inventory to choose from.
