Is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people feel good about living with over time, especially because it is described as affordable, comfortable, and well equipped. The comments also suggest it can be a dependable choice for buyers who want all-wheel drive and a strong engine for everyday use. For used buyers, that kind of satisfaction can reduce long-term ownership risk, though you should still check the specific vehicle’s maintenance history and condition carefully.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 366 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $11,564 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport's resale value?

The current average of $11,572 CAD sits slightly below last year's $13,327 CAD.

That price movement suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command the same level of pricing seen a year ago. If you buy at the right number now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later. Strong demand from shoppers who value comfort, features, and all-wheel drive can still help support the used market for this model.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked SUV with a lower current asking price and a decent number of deal listings to compare. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best condition and price combination.
