The current average of $10,069 CAD sits slightly above last year's $9,808 CAD.

That upward movement suggests the market has been willing to pay a bit more for this model year, which can support resale confidence if you buy at the right price. The relatively tight spread between the year-round low and high also points to a fairly stable pricing band. If you sell later, strong demand at the right price point should help you attract shoppers without needing to discount heavily.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Hyundai Elantra GT or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.66% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a model year with solid owner satisfaction and a market that still offers some deal opportunities. If you're especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, mileage, and asking price.
