Yes — the 2016 Honda Pilot earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its spacious interior, family-friendly features, and comfort, and many also appreciate its good gas mileage. It’s especially appealing if you want a three-row SUV that works well as a family hauler with useful everyday practicality. Is the 2016 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable for family use, with praise centred on comfort, space, and day-to-day usefulness. That said, the model year’s reputation is shaped by some known trade-offs, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the vehicle has been maintained. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure any example you consider has been cared for properly and checked carefully before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 180 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.87% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $17,367 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $17,367 CAD sits slightly below last year's $20,163 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a plus if you’re buying now, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if values stay under pressure. If you plan to resell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on condition, maintenance history, and trim appeal to help protect value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 25% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.87% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 2016 Honda Pilot’s mix of family-friendly space, comfort features, and a lower used price, it makes sense to focus on well-kept examples with solid history. If you’re more price-sensitive and want to compare nearby years, you may find a better fit by shopping around, but the 2016 remains a compelling option when the right listing appears.
