Is the 2016 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the spacious interior, good gas mileage, and great handling, and many describe it as an ideal family vehicle thanks to its roomy design, sliding doors, and versatile seating. That lines up well with the Odyssey’s role as a practical family minivan that prioritises comfort, versatility, and easy everyday drivability. Is the 2016 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many people find dependable for family use, with repeated praise for its trouble-free day-to-day practicality, roomy cabin, and long-term usefulness. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained properly and road-tested carefully before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 24.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 149 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,047 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $15,243 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,081 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you’re buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, the softer pricing trend may limit short-term upside, especially if supply stays healthy. On the other hand, a well-kept example with strong equipment and clean history should still appeal to family buyers looking for value.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 24.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 is a sensible choice if you want a well-liked, practical minivan at a softer used-market price than it carried a year ago. If you’re focused on value and want a broad pool of listings to compare, this model year makes sense. If you’re more price-sensitive, you can also keep nearby years on your shortlist and compare condition, equipment, and asking price carefully.
