Is the 2016 Honda Odyssey a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Honda Odyssey earns a 4.91/5 user rating, which points to very strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, good gas mileage, and great handling, and many describe it as an ideal family vehicle thanks to its roomy design, sliding doors, and versatile seating. That lines up well with its role as a practical family minivan that still feels easy to drive day to day. With 26.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some market flexibility if you shop carefully.

Is the 2016 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.91/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable in everyday family use, with praise centred on its trouble-free ownership experience, good gas mileage, and long-term usefulness. The 2016 model year sits in a generation that is generally regarded as the most trouble-free of modern Odysseys, which supports confidence for used buyers. Even so, you should still check maintenance records closely, because any used minivan can carry long-term ownership risk if it has been neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right example.

• Deal availability: 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 143 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,052 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $15,052 CAD sits slightly below last year's $18,715 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at a strong price, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.91/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 19.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.91/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Honda Odyssey is a strong choice if you want a well-liked, family-focused minivan with solid value and plenty of inventory to compare. If your priority is getting the best possible price, this year looks especially worth considering; if you want to widen your search, a nearby model year can still make sense, but the 2016 stands out as the more compelling starting point for most shoppers.
