Is the 2016 Honda CR-V a good car?

Is the 2016 Honda CR-V reliable?

Owners rate it 4.53/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the model’s reputation for dependable, trouble-free ownership is a major part of its appeal. It is also described as a vehicle you can count on for daily duties, with long-term dependability built into its value proposition. For used buyers, that generally means lower ownership anxiety, though you should still evaluate condition carefully because age and mileage can affect long-term risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Honda CR-V?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 456 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $15,836 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Honda CR-V's resale value?

The current average of $15,851 CAD sits slightly below last year's $17,388 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the model has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If you buy now, you may not see rapid appreciation, so resale value will depend more on condition, mileage, and trim appeal than on broad market momentum. The good news is that steady owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.53/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Honda CR-V or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 26.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.53/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2015 if:

• At $14,759 CAD, the 2015 costs less than the current year's $15,851 CAD average.
• It offers a refined, practical package with strong everyday usefulness.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2016 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2015 is the better value path, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
