This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly when you find a strong one.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.08% compared with last year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.62/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 17.08% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a used compact SUV with strong owner approval, the 2016 Ford Escape is the primary year to focus on. If you're especially price-sensitive, keep an eye on listings near the lower end of the range and compare them against nearby model years to make sure you're getting the best value for your budget.
