Too much body damage, not equipped with Bluetooth or a backup camera and no receiver to haul our electric scooter.

I own a 2016 Dodge Journey and just the other day the drivers head rest popped out . I was changing my seat cover for the head rest when this happened. I tried to put it back in place but there aren’t any clips to fix it so I figure it’s a defect. I’ve read a lot of complaints about this happening. This needs to be placed on the recall list. I have also had trouble with my transmission, which I have also heard bad news about. Hopefully Dodge will figure out and fix these problems.

We had a 2010 Journey RT and were very satisfied with it so we were looking for something similar. This 2016 Journey RT has not disappointed. The motor has a nice amount of power, seats very comfortable and the bells and whistles it came with are great too. My only wish is that the mileage was a little better but all in all we are very happy with our purchase.

Great vehicle. 2nd one we have owned. 1st one was 4cylinder. 2nd one v6. The v6 is the better way to go. No complaints.

How much does the 2016 Dodge Journey cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $9,710 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $9,361 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $11,191 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $11,063 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.23% |
Prices have softened 12.23% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 247 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2016 Dodge Journey a good car?
The 2016 Dodge Journey is a mixed-value choice, but it can make sense if you prioritise comfort and a relaxed drive over the latest features. The user rating is 3.4/5, and owners commonly point to the comfortable seating, decent V6 power, and smooth steering as strengths. At the same time, some shoppers note transmission concerns and functionality issues with items like the climate control, along with limited media features. With 23.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2016 Dodge Journey reliable?
Owner feedback suggests the 2016 Dodge Journey can be dependable in some respects, especially when it comes to a comfortable, trouble-free driving feel for daily use. The positive comments around smooth steering and the more enjoyable V6 setup point to a vehicle that some owners feel confident living with over time. That said, transmission problems and other functionality issues show up often enough that you should be cautious about long-term ownership risk on a used example.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Dodge Journey?
This looks like a moderate buyer’s market, so you can afford to be selective rather than rushed.
- Deal availability: 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 247 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $9,361 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2016 Dodge Journey's resale value?
The current average of $9,710 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,063 CAD.
That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future resale upside may be more limited if the market stays weak. If you plan to sell later, the current trend suggests you should focus on buying well and keeping the vehicle in strong condition. A lower entry price today can help offset some of the depreciation you may face down the road.
Should I buy a 2016 Dodge Journey or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2016 if:
- 23.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.23% compared with last year.
The bottom line: The 2016 is worth considering if you want a lower-priced used Journey and can shop carefully for a good deal. If you are especially price-sensitive, it is also worth comparing nearby years to see whether a similar vehicle offers better value or a stronger price position.
