How much does the 2016 Chevrolet Trax cost?

Prices have softened 22.49% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 95 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Trax earns a 5/5 user rating, and its overview points to a practical, city-friendly small SUV with the higher seating position and extra space many shoppers want. It was positioned as an affordable, budget-conscious entry in Chevrolet’s lineup, with everyday usability, a useful folding front passenger seat, and a seven-inch infotainment touchscreen with OnStar and Bluetooth. The market also shows 22.1% of listings as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Trax’s appeal comes more from practicality and packaging than from performance, and it was not especially rich in safety or convenience features compared with later years. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is less about complexity and more about making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well and suits your expectations for an early-model subcompact crossover.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Trax?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 95 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $8,278 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Trax's resale value?

The current average of $8,309 CAD sits slightly below last year's $10,720 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Trax has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can be helpful if you buy now and plan to keep it for a while. If you later sell, the lower entry price may help cushion the impact of further depreciation, especially if you buy near the bottom of the current range. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 22.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 22.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2016 Trax makes sense if you want a budget-friendly, city-oriented small SUV and you find one priced well below the market average. If you are more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-equipped, best-priced example rather than the year alone.
