Is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox a good car?

Yes — the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox earns a 4.5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its spacious interior, array of features, and good value for money, and many also like the remote start, backup camera, and comfortable ride. Is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that many people find dependable in daily use, with comfort and features that hold up well over time. Is now a good time to buy a used 2016 Chevrolet Equinox?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to compare listings and wait for the right example.

• Deal availability: 18.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 137 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $10,027 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2016 Chevrolet Equinox's resale value?

The current average of $10,068 CAD sits slightly below last year's $11,465 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Equinox easier to buy now but may also limit upside for a future seller. If you plan to resell later, the current trend means condition, service records, and trim appeal will matter more in protecting value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2016 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2016 if:

• 18.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.19% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a comfortable, well-equipped compact SUV and you find one with strong maintenance records, the 2016 is worth considering. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby years and focus on the best-documented example rather than the cheapest one.
