CarGurus Analysis: 2015 Nissan Pathfinder

Summary
With 141 currently listed for sale and an average price of $10,335 CAD, 27.0% of 2015 Nissan Pathfinder listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder 4.29 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2015 Nissan Pathfinder stands out as a practical three-row SUV that blends family-friendly space with a strong emphasis on comfort and everyday usability. In the fourth generation, it moved to a unibody platform, which helped shift the Pathfinder away from its earlier truck-like roots and towards a smoother, more car-like driving experience. For 2015, it came with a 3.5-litre V6 engine rated at 260 hp and an Xtronic continuously variable transmission, while four-wheel drive models included a locking differential for added mild off-road capability. It also offered seating for seven, which made it appealing to buyers who needed room for passengers without giving up the versatility of an SUV.
This model year also benefited from a well-rounded equipment list across the trim range. The base S trim included tri-zone climate control and 18-inch alloy wheels, while the SV added conveniences such as an advanced drive-assist display, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats, and a power liftgate. Higher trims brought more comfort and convenience, including leather upholstery, heated second-row seats, ventilated front seats, a surround-view camera, and a Bose audio system. For buyers shopping used, that mix of space, features, and value is a major part of the Pathfinder’s appeal.
There are a few drawbacks to keep in mind. The 2015 Pathfinder was part of the generation that had CVT concerns in early models, and the broader Pathfinder line is also noted for below-average fuel economy for the class. Even so, owners often praise its spacious interior, safety features, smooth ride, and useful technology such as the 360 camera and navigation system, which helps explain why it remains a compelling family SUV on the used market.

Yes it is worth the value. Altho once purchased realized some features that I was used too were missing like digital speedometer, and Bluetooth audio. It does have Bluetooth phone calls but can't use it for navigation or music. It does provide auxiliary hookups have yet to try it out.

This is the nicest vehicle I have ever owned. The 360 camera is very useful. The navigation and 4 wheel drive are awesome. Snowed the first week I got it and it was the most solid driving vehicle I have ever driven. Couldn’t make it slide. Love everything about it.

I love this car. It took them till 2015 to get my color but now I have it. This vehicle shows that you can have it all. Safety, tech, reliability, performance, off road ability, flexibility and fuel economy. After comparing to the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot I found that those competitors don't even come close.

I like the features of this car although I should have noticed that it does not have Bluetooth like the SL or the SV.

How much does the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $10,235 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $9,785 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $12,295 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $12,295 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −16.76% |
Prices have softened 16.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 143 listings available, which gives you a useful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
Is the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder a good car?
Generally — the 4.3/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. Owners repeatedly highlight the spacious interior, safety features, smooth ride, and useful technology such as the 360 camera and navigation system. That lines up well if you want a practical three-row SUV with family-friendly space and everyday comfort. With 25.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder reliable?
Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a reliable motor and a trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise for how well it handles day-to-day use over the long term. That said, used buyers should still pay close attention to service records and test-drive behaviour, since transmission history can affect long-term ownership risk.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2015 Nissan Pathfinder?
This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best-priced examples.
- Deal availability: 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 143 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.76% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $9,785 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder's resale value?
The current average of $10,235 CAD sits slightly below last year's $12,295 CAD.
That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who purchased when prices were higher. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2015 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2015 if:
- 25.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 16.76% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2015 Pathfinder makes the most sense if you want a roomy, comfort-focused three-row SUV and you find a well-priced example with a clean history. If you are especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may also be worth comparing, but the 2015 is the better primary path when you want a strong mix of value, space, and owner satisfaction.
